BLOOMSDAY 2008 – All Youth (6th thru 12th grades) will gather at the church at 5:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 7 and go down to our Bloomsday Water Station. Dress in layers – it is chilly in the morning and gets warmer as the race progresses. If you have never participated in this Youth activity, it is a lot of fun – just ask someone who has done it before! We will work the water station, clean up, ‘clothes’ shop and eat lunch before returning to the church at approximately 3:00 p.m. Adult drivers welcome and NEEDED – contact Kyra.
CONVO 2008 is coming up Memorial Day Weekend at Whitworth. We have 15 Youth that will be participating from Spokane Valley UMC. Of these, two are on the CCOYM Team and will be helping with CONVO. We should be very proud of our Teens. Andy Jamison and Betti Gieser will be first time chaperones at CONVO 2008. We still have a financial need for transportation. If you would like to donate any amount toward van rentals and gasoline costs, it would be appreciated. Please contact Kyra if you are able to help out. We are not able to rent a bus this year because of the almost $3,000.00 charge.
GRADUATES!!! DON’T FORGET ABOUT ANYONE you know who has GRADUATED from college, technical school or high school since last June? How about anyone who will be GRADUATING this Spring? If you would like to have them recognized in our graduation section of the Communicator, please stop by Kyra’s office and get a form from her. Simply fill it out, return it to Kyra and she will make sure all of the facts get written up. You need to have these completed and returned to Kyra no later than Friday, May 16. If you have any questions, please call her at 922-8838.
Soon we will have three Youth confirmed. Please be sure to encourage these young people and help them continue to grow in their commitment to Christ and his church. They are: Ben Ellis, Zach Ellis and Tia Lehman.

Youth Babysitters, Mary Johnson Sunday School Helpers, and Acolytes all need to remember to check their calendars and be in the right place at the right time! Camp will be starting soon and many of you will need to help work around a schedule that will work during the summer – see Kyra!
