YOUTH HAPPENINGS 

 

SWEATSHIRTS FOR SENIORS began on Sunday, November 20^th.  DEEPER (Youth Bible Study Group) is asking the members of our congregation to pick a tag off of the wall in the Welcome Center and bring a new sweatshirt to the church.  The Youth will sort, wrap and deliver the sweatshirts to an adult care center in December.  Please consider this as a great way to get involved in the ?giving time of the year' for our church to help others.  The last day to collect the sweatshirts will be Sunday, December 18^th.  Your support is appreciated!   

 

Many thanks to the Youth that served at the Harvest Dinner on November 5^th.  They were Alyssa Gottberg, Kyndal Gottberg, Maggie Madsen, Alyssa Partridge, Tia Sells and Kyia Warner.  They are more appreciated than they will ever know!

 

Hanging of the Greens will be on Saturday, December 3^rd at 9:00 a.m.  This is a good time for all participants and it ends in a beautiful result for our church for the holidays.  Bring your parents, come and decorate and enjoy cookies and cocoa served by Carol Hickman.

 

All Church Conference is on Sunday, December 11^th at 3:00 p.m.  Our Youth are asked to attend this meeting.  As members you have the right to vote on issues concerning our church.  This is the time and place to find out what is planned for SVUMC and you in 2012.

 

The Youth will be Baking Christmas Cookies on Sunday December 11^th at 5:00 p.m.  That's right one additional hour so that we can bake, decorate, eat and share.  Mark your calendar 5:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

 

There will be no Sunday School on 12/18 or 12/25.  Church service at 10:00 a.m. each day. 

 

Jesus' Birthday Party is 12/18 in the fellowship Hall right after the one 10:00 a.m. service.  All Youth are asked to attend to assist in helping with the crafts the children will be making.

 

December 18^th at 5:00 p.m. will be our annual Formal Dinner and gift exchange at Ferraro's Italian Restaurant.  The dress is very nice/formal - no flip-flops, no tennis shoes, no jeans, and the guys need to wear ties.  Do not pay more than $8.00 for your gift.  Please remember to bring money for your dinner!  Feel free to bring your friends with you to Formal Dinner, but remember they have to follow the dress code and bring a gift for the gift exchange.  They do not need permission slips for this event.  Have your parents drop you off and pick you up at the restaurant.  Also, remember that the restaurant is a business and you need to purchase food while you are there. 

 

Our YOUTH OVERNIGHTER will be held on Wednesday, December 28 beginning at 6:00 p.m.  All of your friends may come IF they have a completed form (outside of Kyra's office) to Kyra no later than 12/26/10.  The sleeplessness will be over by 9:00 a.m. on Thursday morning.  Bring snacks to share, games, your pillow and your sleeping bag!
